Tool entries stay in your browser
Audit answers, actions and evidence references are processed in the page. The toolkit does not send those entries to UKVI, this website’s operator or a cloud database. Use aliases and internal references: do not enter passport details, dates of birth, share codes or sensitive case histories.
Optional local saving
The default is session memory. If you expressly enable saving on this device, the tool stores its workspace in your browser’s local storage. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to read it. It is not an encrypted case-management system or a central backup.
You can export your working file, turn off local saving and clear the workspace through the toolkit controls. Clearing browser data may remove saved work. Downloaded exports remain wherever you saved them and must be managed separately.
Page requests and official-source monitoring
Loading this website sends ordinary web requests to its hosting provider, which may process network and security logs such as IP address, request time and requested path. The official-source monitoring process fetches a fixed list of public GOV.UK sources; it does not receive your tool inputs.
Optional analytics and cookies
Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. It helps us understand use of the website, including which guidance and tools are visited. A new visit without acceptance or with a saved rejection does not load the Google tag. You can change or withdraw your choice through Cookie settings in the footer; rejecting it stops further Analytics collection in this browser and removes the Analytics cookies this site sets.
Your choice is remembered in this browser for up to 180 days. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice applies only to the current page. This preference is separate from optional saving of your toolkit workspace, and changing your analytics choice does not clear your working records.
After acceptance, Google Analytics can receive technical and page-use information, such as browser and device details, page addresses, referrers and session identifiers. Google receives the network request, including the IP address. Our own page-view event uses the public canonical page address without query strings or fragments and reduces the referrer to its origin. The site does not add your audit answers, search terms, register entries or editable template contents to its analytics events. Automatic form, search and other optional interaction measurement and automatic user-provided-data collection are disabled in the Google tag settings. Do not place personal or case information in page URLs.
The Analytics cookies are _ga and _ga_TQTZSN23LL, with a configured lifetime of up to 180 days. Advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalisation and Google Signals are disabled by this integration. Downloaded working templates and exported reports do not contain the Google tag.
Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. External official links take you to websites with their own privacy information. This website does not load remote fonts or marketing embeds.
Scope of this release
There are no user accounts, subscriptions, document-submission forms or paid-service checkouts. If such features are introduced, their operator details, data purposes, retention arrangements and contact routes must be provided before information is collected.
